Our staff are enthusiastic, experienced, motivated and friendly! We all hold or a working towards a childcare qualification along with paediatric first aid!
Our team keep up to date with current legislation by undertaking regular training and workshops both externally and delivered by management. Staff and management meet on a regular basis to discuss individual training needs. We also attend 6 weekly meetings to discuss the needs of the nursery and plan for future events and improvements to keep you and your child smiling!

Hello, my name is Joanne! I set up Footprints Day Nursery Wallsend in 2018. I have always worked in day nurseries and find working with children and their families an extremely rewarding job. I have worked with babies and children since 2008 and am truly passionate about my work, which is why I took the plunge and decided to open my very own day nursery! I have an honours degree in children and young people as well as various training which includes paediatric first aid, safeguarding children, behaviour management, food hygiene and much more!

Hello, my name is Michelle. I have dedicated my entire career to childcare and hold a Level 4 qualification in Children’s Care, Learning and Development. In 2024, I achieved my NPQEYL in Leadership and Management and currently completing a Level 3 Senco course. Throughout my career, I have completed a wide range of additional training courses, including Paediatric First Aid, Behaviour Management, Safeguarding, Leadership and Management, Food Allergy Awareness, and so many more. I have also undertaken specialist training in tube feeding and the use of feeding pumps, giving me the knowledge and confidence to support children with complex individual care requirements. In my current role at the nursery, I serve as the Designated Safeguarding Officer, First Aider, Behaviour Management Coordinator and SENCo Assistant. I’m committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

Hello, My name is Heather! My journey in childcare started in 2010 when I volunteered through Barnardos in a Family support group before qualifying. I hold a Level 3 Qualification in Childcare and have completed other relevant training including Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding, Prevent, FGM and SEND. I am truly passionate about working with children and their families and helping them reach their full potential. I look forward to meeting you all and working with you and your children.

Hello, my name is Janine, and I am a dedicated SEN Support Practitioner with a passion for helping children reach their full potential. I have completed a range of training, including Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity, First Aid, and numerous SEN-related courses, enabling me to provide effective and inclusive support for children with a variety of additional needs. I am committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and positive environment where every child feels valued, respected, and encouraged to succeed. I enjoy building strong relationships with children and their families and take pride in adapting my approach to meet each child's individual needs. I look forward to continuing my journey at Footprints and making a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and families we support.
Charlotte Room Leader - Ducklings
Hello, I’m Charlotte! I earned my Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Workforce and Early Years Educator qualification in 2015. Over the years, I’ve completed a variety of training courses, including First Aid, Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, and many more. I have just completed an extra Level 3 qualification in Working with Babies and children under 2. I am additionally trained in tube feeding and supporting children who use feeding pumps. I have a particular passion for supporting premature babies and children with individual medical and developmental needs, helping them feel safe, secure and well supported as they grow and develop. My passion is for Early Years — and there’s no better place to share that then here at Footprints!

Hello my name is Louise, as well as having two children of my own, I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Childhood and Early Years Studies. Hi I'm Gemma, I am a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner who is passionate about supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing in a safe and nurturing environment. I am trained in paediatric first aid, safeguarding, and safer sleep practices, along with a range of early years training that helps me provide high-quality care every day. I believe every child is unique and deserves to feel valued, confident, and supported as they explore and learn through play. Hi, I’m Katie, and I’m so excited to have recently joined the team at Footprints Day Nursery! I am currently completing my Level 3 Early Years qualification and have a real passion for working with **babies and our youngest children. I love helping them feel safe, settled and happy while supporting their development through play, exploration and lots of positive interactions. Hello, my name is Wendy! I have worked in childcare since 2016, as well as having 3 children of my own. I have a NVQ level 3 in childcare. I have also completed courses in Leadership and Management, food hygiene, food allergy awareness, paediatric first aid and many more! I have a passion for arts, crafts and messy activities, and love to watch the children learn and grow every day.

Hello, my name is Danielle. I gained my level 3 qualification in childcare and education in 2010. I have worked in childcare since then with children of all ages, as well as having a daughter of my own. I have also completed courses in safeguarding, First aid, Food Hygiene and many more! Hello, I am Carolyne! I qualified in July 2000 after completing a CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education. I have continued my training over the years working up to a Level 5. I am qualified in First Aid, Safeguarding, SEND and Food Safety. I enjoy watching children thrive and develop, while providing a stimulating, educational and fun environment for them to help them reach their full potential!
Abbie Nursery Practitioner - Hedgehogs
Hi, my name is Abbie. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Early Years, which I completed in 2023. I have also undertaken training in Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, Allergy Awareness and Safer Sleep. I am additionally trained in tube feeding and supporting the care of children who use feeding pumps, giving me valuable knowledge and confidence when supporting children with individual care needs. I have recently completed my Level 3 Baby Room qualification and absolutely love working with younger babies. Supporting their early development and being part of those first precious moments is incredibly rewarding. Hi, I’m Kim, the Butterflies Room Lead. I have many years of experience working in childcare and am passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child can thrive. Hello, I’m Alisha. I achieved my Level 3 qualification in Children’s Care and Learning in 2021, and I’m thrilled that this is my first role in a career I’ve always dreamed of pursuing. Childcare is a completely new career for me, and I’m looking forward to beginning my Level 3 Early Years qualification and building my knowledge and experience along the way. I have always loved being around babies and young children and I’m especially enjoying getting to know our youngest children, supporting them as they grow, learn and develop in a safe and nurturing environment. Hi, I’m Ella, and I originally joined Footprints as a supply member of staff over the summer. I really enjoyed my time here and quickly discovered how much I love working in childcare. I’ve decided to continue my journey in early years and will now be starting my Level 3 Early Years qualification alongside working at Footprints. I have already completed our essential training, including Safer Sleep, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding, Allergy Awareness, Paediatric First Aid and other key early years training. I’m really looking forward to continuing to develop my knowledge and experience, building positive relationships with the children and supporting them with their learning and development. Hi, I’m Georgia, and I’m proud to have returned to Footprints as the nursery chef. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Early Years as well as my passion for catering. These help me ensure that every meal is prepared to the highest standards of safety, nutrition, and care. I love being part of a team that places children’s wellbeing at the heart of everything we do, and it is incredibly rewarding to support children’s healthy development through nutritious, delicious meals each day.

Hello, my name is Molly! I’m the kitchen assistant here at the nursery, and I love preparing healthy and tasty meals and snacks for all the children. Making sure every meal is nutritious, fun, and enjoyed by the little ones is very important to me. I enjoy seeing the children try new foods and helping them develop a love for healthy eating.

Hi I'm Karen! With many years of experience in professional cleaning and all the necessary training in health, safety, and hygiene, I’m proud to play a part in creating a clean, safe, and happy environment for the children. I take great care in making sure every room is spotless, every surface is sanitised, and every play area is fresh and ready for fun. Keeping the nursery clean and stocked isn’t just my job – it’s something I truly care about, because I know how important a healthy space is for little ones to thrive.
