Wallsend
Footprints Day Nursery Wallsend is a 104 place nursery which opened in 2018. We are a private day nursery providing care and education for babies and children from 6 weeks to 5 years. We offer a fun and inviting, home from home, learn through play environment to allow your little one to thrive in.
We are committed to providing a happy and safe environment for all children who attend our Nursery. Our aim is simply to be the best in the local North Tyneside area and to provide the highest standards of care and education for every child, whether they attend each day or for just one session per week. We endeavour to offer the highest quality setting and standard of care; we welcome the regular Ofsted inspection.
Children are encouraged to confidently explore their age appropriate play room as well as accessing one of our many outdoor areas. Children can enhance their learning and development through new, exciting and stimulating activities whilst having access to the enclosed, secure outdoor play areas.
The main, open plan garden has paved and grassed areas, which allow all babies and children to explore with confidence. We have created an growing area for children to grow their own fruit and vegetables, which they can enjoy planting, taking care of and then enjoy during meal and snack times. Our Hedgehogs (babies) have their own separated covered garden area; our Badgers (preschool) have their own fully accessible garden; we also have a stunning, relaxing ‘Water garden’ to the rear of our centre for all to explore and thrive in. We also have a beautiful relaxing sensory room for use by our Hedgehog’s and as and extra area for children to self regulate.
At Footprints, we aim to create an inclusive environment for all children and families. Our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) is here to help children with additional needs. Our staff receive regular training in areas like Chatterbox, Portage training, and Early Help assessments. We collaborate closely with professionals like Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Occupational Therapists, as well as the Early Years Communication Outreach Team and local authorities. Through individual play plans and targeted learning, we ensure each child can fully engage with our curriculum and reach their maximum potential. Your child’s development and well-being are our top priorities at Footprints.
Through observing children’s individual interests and needs, staff can successfully plan experiences and activities using the 7 areas of learning and development within the Early Years Foundation Stage, allowing development and building new skills on a daily basis.
Holiday club (Squirrels) – We run a fun filled holiday club for children ages 4-11 years; during all school holidays you can book your little one in with us on either a regular or ad hoc basis.
Parent/toddler groups – To ensure we always serve the community we have a wonderful weekly timetable of independent classes who hire one of our rooms to which the community have full access to. Please contact us to find out more or to receive a copy of our timetable.
Our beautiful sensory room based in the building, is a lovely relaxing space to provide sensory experiences. With a wide selection of stimulating and engaging equipment and activities to explore. It is a firm favourite of our under 2’s, and the perfect space for our children who sometimes need a quieter more relaxing environment for short periods of time.
